This is the first time that a panel of iPhone images has been given an award like this anywhere in the world. He is the first photographer in Ireland to receive a Double Fellowship and is now part of a very small group of photographers at the very top of the profession.
His iPhone panel of images has also been awarded “The Peter Grugeon Award” for best Fellowship panel of the year 2012 from the BIPP Gerry is the first and only person ever to have been awarded the “Peter Grugeon Award” twice. (And he was recently awarded with an Honorary Fellowship from the BIPP; only 20 of these have ever been given in the 140 year history of the BIPP.)
In 2013 he received two Silver awards from the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) in the landscape section for two iPhone images. More recently he was awarded “Team UK Best of Nation” for highest scoring print in 2018 World Photographic Cup
